What is Hair Transplant

Hair transplant is the new trend for those who have lost their hair to untimely hair fall, also for the people who want to alter their hairlines or acquire a more attractive hairstyle. But hair transplant is meant for those who have thick or dense hair on their body because in this procedure your hair from other body parts is transplanted into your scalp, which is the recipient area. The question arises, are hair transplants really safe? and successful? or are there long-lasting procedures? People worry if the procedure would bring some unwanted tissue to change their bodies. Many people also ask what is a hair transplant.

Basically a hair transplant is a surgical process that involves removal of hair fall from any site in the body like face, legs or any area where the hairs are thicker and denser to the area where you are losing your hair like your scalp. This process is also used for transplanting hair in lashes and eyebrows and even in mustache and beard. The latest techniques that give permanent results are follicular hair transplant that can be done in two ways one is strip harvesting and other is follicular unit extraction. In both the process, they pick up follicular clusters of hair. In the strip harvesting, skin strips with good hair growth are implanted into the balding area and in follicular unit extraction, the hair clusters with their roots are manually removed and then planted into the hairless site.

Steps for hair transplant :

Preparation

The initial step for hair transplant surgery is preparing hair follicles from the back of your head which are removed and then relocated to the hair thinning for the balding area.

Trimming

The donor area is trimmed before the surgery as it becomes easy for surgeons to perform.

The donor area is prepared

Once your hair is trimmed doctors give you local anesthesia in your donor area.

Removal of tissue from the Donor area

The tissue from your Donor area that contains the balding resistant hair follicles are removed surgically and then the donor area is sutured.

These sutures in the donor area are hidden from the patient's existing here that is why they are over them these are then removed almost 10 days after hair transplant surgery.

Donor tissue and grafts

Microscopes are used for surgical techniques to help in viewing the donor tissues for dissecting them and preparing the follicular unit hair grafts.

Preparing recipient area

Local anesthesia is given to the patient.

No trimming or removal of hair is required at the top of this balding area.

Incisions in balding areas

Follicular unit hair grafts are placed with the tiny incisions which are made in an irregular pattern in the recipient area.

The smallest graft is placed in front and the denser one is placed behind

Post hair surgery

After the hair transplant surgery, tiny Institutions would be visible on the patient's operated area

Finishing hair transplant
